Mark & Jenny Parker

Mark and Jenny, children of Wycliffe missionaries who worked in Papua New Guinea, met at and graduated from Ukarumpa High School. In 1994 they were married in the USA but moved to Adelaide, South Australia soon after. They have five children. For many years Mark has been self-employed in the building industry, engaged in renovation. Jenny has been involved in homeschooling and is now working as a Bowen Therapist. Mark has been offered a role in the Construction and Maintenance (CAM) department at Ukarumpa and Jenny will take a leaf out of her father’s book and work in administration. Their younger children, Tilly, Ethan and Charlie will take up the challenging task of adjusting to a new school and cultural environment. Mark and Jenny feel privileged to have been called to assist in the work of Bible translation in a land with the greatest diversity of languages in the world. They are excited about the power of God’s word to transform lives, especially the power of the gospel in the mother tongue, or heart language, and are thankful for the prayer and practical support of those at home who are sharing this work.
