Belinda Fox
God used a missions conference and a chance encounter with a tennis opponent to lead Belinda to Wycliffe. For three years she coordinated a community development project in a remote village of Papua (eastern Indonesia) and witnessed first-hand Papua’s vast physical and spiritual needs. Two years later, she sensed God’s call to join Wycliffe long-term and return to Papua as part of the Papuan Malay Bible translation team.
Papuan Malay is the language of wider communication spoken by up to 2 million people all over the large Indonesian province of Papua. It is a challenging project due to its scope but God is doing amazing things to get his Word out. As well as serving as project manager, Belinda also facilitates the Papuan Malay oral storytelling translation team. She is passionate about seeing many generations of Papuan people understand God’s Word clearly in the language they understand best and be transformed by his love.
