Martin & Kathy Snook

We were teenagers when the Lord placed a desire in our hearts to be involved in Bible translation. After marrying, and having our two sons, we joined Wycliffe Australia in 1989. For the next thirteen years we worked in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands (where our daughter was born). Our role was to support Bible translation in the region in which we were based, doing whatever we could to facilitate the work in practical ways.

At the end of 2002 we returned to Australia and took up roles at Wycliffe’s national centre in Melbourne while our children finished their high school education. We moved to Cairns in mid-2010 to directly support the work of Bible translation in the Pacific. Martin purchases supplies and prepares them for export. He also serves on the Tree Tops Lodge Board of Management, while Kathy is a part of the Wycliffe Australia Board of Directors. Kathy contributes in administration and training, and we both help to support missionaries who are evacuated to Cairns for medical reasons.
