Who would have thought as Gary grew up in Melbourne knowing little about Christianity that he would end up serving as a missionary. At the age of 19, he heard and responded to the gospel message. Gary was a short-term missionary with OM in northern Poland where he met Eva who was a student leader with IFES while completing her Masters in Mathematics. Eva had become a Christian at the age of 16 through reading her Bible. In 1995 they were married and returned to Australia to prepare for long-term cross-cultural ministry. They studied at the Bible College of Victoria and in 2001 returned as church planters with SEND International to Poland. Gary and Eva helped to plant three churches in northern and south-western Poland. In 2014 they responded to a clear call from God to return to Australia and joined Wycliffe Bible Translators in 2015. The McMasters are using their gifts and experience in digital media and to mentor, mobilise and equip Christians in Australia for Bible translation.
